Colorado
This is an absolute classic. I love this type of scene, which is completely foreign to Australia. Two feet of snow had fallen the previous night and I decided to get off the main road. Snow crunched beneath my boots as it fell all around me. It was so peaceful, wandering in thick atmosphere. I found this cabin tucked away on a gentle slope. If you look closely, you can see snow falling against the dark cabin walls. Still, there is warmth in the image of the cabin. Comfort. I didn’t see anyone the whole time I was shooting. I was surrounded by silent solitude and it was magical. I had captured the perfect, classic hideaway shot and felt I was experiencing a uniquely American pleasure.
